John Galliano was born in Gibraltar to Spanish parents. As a child he moved to London and attended Wilson’s School in Wellington. In 1984 he graduated in fashion design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design with a collection inspired by the French Revolution called Les Incroyables, receiving critical acclaim and is entirely bought and sold in the London boutique Browns.
Later, launches its own brand under his own name and began his real career as a fashion designer. He was awarded as British Designer of the Year in 1987, 1994 and 1995. In 1997, shares the award with Alexander McQueen, his successor at Givenchy.
